Annie Ruth Lee Watkins, 95, of Lynnwood Drive in Lancaster, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Ephraim McDowell Medical Center. Born March 9, 1919 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Wade & Judith Naylor Lee. She was a member of Lancaster Baptist Church and enjoyed crafting . In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Watkins, six brothers, Howard, Harold, H.D., Gilbert, Earl & Clyde Lee, four sisters, Nellie B. Cummins, Hazel Singleton, Frances Hansford & Thelma Petit, and one grandchild, Terry Wayne. Her survivors include one son; Glenn (Sally) Watkins of Lancaster, three daughters; Lucy (Edward ) Wayne of Campbellsville, Geneva (Ernest) Broaddus of Moreland, & Linda (Gerald) Price of Danville, two brothers, Herbert Lee of Harrison, Ohio and Robert Lee of Winchester, and two sisters; Jewell Blaydes of Seymour, Tenn. & Lucille Dobbs of Monticello. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren & one great-great-great grandchild as well as her caregivers, Wanda Booth, Shonda Stevens, Theresa Martin, Donna Peek & Betty Graves. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday August 13, 2014 at Ramsey Funeral Home by Rev. Daryl Hodge & Dr. Harold Best, with burial following in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony, Rusty, Sam & Avery Watkins, Randy Wayne, Marty Broaddus & Greg Price. Honorary bearers will be Patti Price, Jenny Burris, Mary Jane Short & Lana Clark. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be given to Gideons International. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
