William "Bill" Lamb, 80 of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Born Monday, September 27, 1937 in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Grover Cleveland & Alma Grimes Lamb. Bill entered the United States Air Force in February 1953 serving until his Honorable Discharge in November 1958. He graduated from the The School of Consumer Banking at the University of Virginia in August of 1969 and went on to spend many years in the banking industry. Having an interest in computers for many years, Bill returned to school and received a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and spent his later years in the technology field. He was an active member of the Lion's Club and a past District Governor for the Kentucky Lions Club District 43Y and was also a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed wood working and was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings; Jim, Frank, Pauline, Susie, and Della. Survivors include his son, William Troy Lamb and wife Lea Etta; granddaughters Tori Leigh and Logan Presley Lamb and grandson Reece Owen Lamb all of Oneida, Tennessee. Brother, Douglas Lee Lamb, of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sister, Esther Raines of Lancaster, Kentucky; Special great=great nephew, Braydon Lamb. Many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Ramsey-Young funeral home. Funeral service will be 12 Noon Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the funeral home with Rev. Marcus Daly officiating and burial following at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Full military rights will be performed by Caswell Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion.
