William Luther Williams, Jr, 82 , of Danville, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 in Lancaster. Born May 1, 1938 in Danville, he was a son of the late William Luther Williams and Margaret Wofford Williams. Billy was a 1956 graduate of Danville High School. Billy attended the University of Kentucky, and a graduate of the Ky. School of Mortuary Science. He had been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1962. Billy began his career in 1959 working with George Pruitt and James B. Preston at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home in Danville and later came to work for James Ramsey at Ramsey Funeral Home in 1962. In 1977, he became owner and president of Ramsey Funeral Home until 1998, when he retired and became a consultant to the funeral home and Carriage Services of Ky. He was also a former Garrard County deputy coroner for many years, a member and deacon of Lancaster Baptist Church, a member of the Ky. Funeral Director's Association, Danville High School Alumni Association, Bluegrass Railroad Museum in Lexington, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Franklin Lodge # 7 in Lancaster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Stevens Williams. and his brother, Robert E. Williams.   He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Pamela Sebastian Seagraves Williams, sons; Buddy L. Williams of Cape Coral, Florida , Ken Williams of Lexington, one daughter; Sandy (Danny) Price of Lexington, step son; Evan (Jennifer) Seagraves of Lancaster, step-daughter Betsy L. (Robert Murphy) Dailey of Lancaster. grandchildren; Tyler (Naomi) Woods, Cameron Woods, Lydia (Jonny) Adams, Elizabeth Collins, Charlie Williams, George B. Debord III, Sebastian Debord, Mason Seagraves & Austin Seagraves, one great granddaughter, Ellianna Adams, and sister in law Ann Williams.   Private funeral services will be held Friday, December 11, 2020 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Harold Best with burial following in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be sons and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are his former funeral home associates and coworkers, his camping friends, his Tennessee Walking Horse friends., his Sunday School Class at Lancaster Baptist Church, a multitude of lifelong friends, and the staff at Landmark of Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, contributions may go either to the Toy Drive in care of the Lancaster Fire Dept. or the Shop with a Cop program care of the Lancaster Police Dept.
