Virginia Brooks Sparks, age 90, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 in Danville. She was born April 15, 1930 in Garrard County to the late Lee & Dorothy Mae Dailey Barker. Brooks was a homemaker who enjoyed camping and square dancing, and was a member of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rueben Sparks, a sister, Doris Baker and three brothers, Willis, Paul & Lloyd Barker. Her survivors include two sons; Gary (Kathy) Sparks and Larry (Patricia) Sparks both of Lancaster, a brother; Joe (Peggy) Barker of Lancaster, two sisters Dixie (Larry) Holman & Judy Preston of Lancaster, five grandchildren; Aaron Sparks, Jenny Sparks, Crystal Cornelius, Jessica Demoran & Jennifer Davis, five great grandchildren; Holly Rice, Quinn Cornelius, Russell Anderson, Emma Parr & Henley Cornelius, as well as 2 great-great grandchildren, Abby Anderson and Korbin Cornelius. Funeral services for Mrs. Sparks will be 11:30 AM Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Jr. Fields and burial following at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Sparks, Gary Sparks, Aaron Sparks, Quinn Cornelius, William Cornelius & Craig Demoran. Her visitation will be from 10:00 AM-11:30 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. All participants and visitors must wear facemasks at all times and proper social distancing measures used due to COVID - 19 restrictions.
