Obituary

Rev. Bryce McCulley, 83, of Lancaster, passed from this life to his eternal home on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Bluegrass Hospice Care at Baptist Health in Lexington, surrounded by his loving family. Born November 20, 1934 in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Clain & Mabel Stipes McCulley. He was a graduate of Buckeye High School, an Army veteran, and attended Johnson Bible College. He served the Lord in ministry for 59 years. He was ordained in the Christian Church ministry and accepted his first church at Forest Hills Christian Church in Madison County in 1959. His previous ministries were at Scott's Fork Christian Church, Leavell Green Christian Church and presently at Antioch Christian Church in Liberty. He was a member of Lancaster Christian Church where he served as an elder, Sunday School teacher and custodian for many years. He was the devoted and loving husband of Karen Lanham McCulley for 33 years and is survived by four daughters, Christina(Erik) Fields of Nicholasville, Elizabeth (Mark) Strunk, Lee Ann McCulley & Juanita Graham , all of Lancaster. He is also survived by a brother, Donnie (Charlotte) McCulley of Nicholasville, two sisters, Betty Arnold & Florence Murphy, both of Lancaster. He was the most loving and caring "Papa" & "Poppie" to his five grandchildren, Amy (Kyle) Barrett of Richmond, Madison Lee & Olivia Grace Graham of Lancaster, and Kire Ann & Payton Sawyer Fields of Nicholasville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and host of friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul & Billy McCulley and a sister, Mary Edith Bourne. Visitation will be from 4 - 9 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 12:30 PM Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the funeral home by Revs. Don Burton & Leon Thomas. Burial with military honors will take place in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Buchenroth, Steve Wesley, Harry & Holton Howard, Jerry Murphy, Keith Bourne & Stan Coffey. Honorary bearers will be Chris & Luke Cox, Braden Carmack, Stephanie Buchenroth, Shirley & Nancy Howard, Brenda Wesley, Bill Graves & Gary Greer. In lieu of flowers contributions may go to the Bluegrass Hospice Care at Baptist Health, 2312 Alexandrian Drive, Lexington, Ky. 40504.
