Carol Jean Ray, 76, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at her home surrounded by family. Born Saturday, October 21, 1939 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie & Lois Sebastian Hume. She was a farmer, a homemaker, & a member of The Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Hume. Survivors include her husband David Alan Ray, Sr., son; David Alan Ray Jr., daughter; Donna Lynn League, brother; Jackie Hume, sister; Nancy Young all of Lancaster, sister; Patsy Bailey of Burgin, two grandchildren, Bradley Davis (Amy) League & April Michelle Marks, six great-grandchildren; Bradley Michael, Patrick Alan, Christopher David & Andrea Michelle League, Maddox Emerson Marks, & Everett Lee Black. Funeral service will be 2:00PM Friday, May 27, 2016 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Rev. Bryce McCulley officiating and burial following in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-9:00PM Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers include Ernest Lee Ray, Michael Hasty, Anthony Black, Shawn Otto, Jeremy Preston, & Bill Graves.
