Obituary

Clarence Johnson, age 88, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, June 23rd, 2019 in Danville. Born March 19, 1931 in Garrard County, he was one of 12 children of Elmer Lee & Jennie Pearl Poynter Johnson. A lifelong farmer , he was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and an Army veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emilee Bowman, a brother, John Junior Johnson, and two sisters, Caroline Baker & Sally Boyd. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Jean Boyd Johnson, five sons, Allen Douglas (Laura) Johnson and Jackie Lynn (Teresa) Johnson both of Nicholasville, Ronnie Dale Johnson of Stanford, Gary Dean & Steven Johnson, both of Lancaster, two daughters, Debra Ann Rhineheimer of Nicholasville & Lisa Gayle Bowman of Lancaster. He was a grandfather to 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers, Ed (Doris) Johnson of Ohio, Charles (Joyce) Johnson of Indiana, Bobby (Trish) Johnson of Lancaster, Jay (Virgie) Johnson of Danville, Elmer (Wanda) Johnson of Mitchellsburg and three sisters, Margaret Sutton of Lancaster, Martha (Alvin) Lee and Katherine (Marvin) Holt, both of Mitchellsburg. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Bro. Jackie Johnson & Pastor Judy Wilson. Burial with military rites will take place at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens in Jessamine County at 3:30 PM. Pallbearers will be Timothy, Zachary, Dustin & Bobby Dale Johnson, Mark Reed & Johnny Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Middleton, Richard Harris & Hunter Davis. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Wednesday June 26, 2019 at the funeral home.
