Donald Keith Scilley, 78, of Lexington, peacefully passed Wednesday, December 17th, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Born March 11, 1936 in Fargo, N.D., he was a son of Harriett McGuigan Scilley of North Dakota and the late John Scilley. Don had served his Lord for over 58 years as a pastor and was currently the minister of Highland Methodist Church. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lisa Ann Scilley and a brother, Allen. Along with his 105 year old mother, his survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Doris Ann Young Scilley; a son, Daniel Keith (Michelle) Scilley of Maysville; a daughter, Dawn Denise (Scot) Cheetham of Stanford; six grandchildren , Mariah, Aaron, Marissa, & Landon Scilley, Isaac Hughes & Lindsay Cheetham; two brothers, Charles and Larry (Gwen) Scilley and a sister Margaret Scilley; brother in law and sister in law, Charles "Buddy" (Frankie) Young. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Highland Methodist Church by the Revs. Dennis Burrows & Mike Powers, with burial following in the Highland Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM till service time Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may go to the Highland Methodist Church general fund or the Highland Methodist Cemetery fund.
