Dora M. Lane, 93, of Junction City, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 in Danville. Born June 9, 1925 in Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late Elby & Anna Mae Kidd Maupin. Dora was a retired telephone operator , a member of Hyattsville Baptist Church, a member of the Telephone Pioneers and CWA. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Sam Lane, a son, James Allen Lane, a daughter, Joyce Doreen Lane and a brother, Paul Maupin. Her survivors include her son, William Sam (Susan) Lane of Junction City, two grandchildren, William Samuel (Heather) Lane III & Sara Elizabeth (Brian) Lamb, and three step great grandchildren, Crystal, Kagen & Addison Coffey. She also leaves behind a brother, Victor Allen "Buddy" Maupin of Lancaster, three sisters, Evelyn Browning and Barbara Corneliuson of Richmond and Kathy Lane of Bryantsville. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 19th at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Everett Priddy and burial following in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger & Kelly Maupin, Danny Browning, Scott & David Lane and Johnny Yates. Honorary bearers will be Eddie Cantrell, Brian Lamb, William S. Lane III, Heather Lane, Sara Lamb and the RUTH Sunday School Class and Sun Globe Sunday School Class at Hyattsville Baptist Church.
