Dorwin Crittenden Greer, 73, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in Stanford. Born March 4, 1944 in Lincoln County, Dorwin was a son of the late Kermit & Claudia Combs Greer. He was retired from IBM as an operator, a former employee of Sudduth Welding, and most recently the custodian at Lancaster Baptist Church. Dorwin enjoyed fishing and gardening as well. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers: Leo, Charles & Amon Greer; and a sister: Betty Lou Greer. His survivors include his wife: Dianna Coffey Greer; a sister: Linda (Phil)Everett of Stanford; his mother in law: Frances Deshon of Lancaster; and a brother in law: Troy Deshon of Lancaster. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, April 10th, 2017 at Lancaster Baptist Church by Dr. Harold Best. Burial with military rites will take place in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rusty Sebastian, Tommy Sudduth, Tommy Owens, Ronnie Nunnemaker, David Middleton & Joda McGuffey. Honorary bearers will be Ned Stickler, Harold Meadows, Joe Purcell, Roy Gibson, Troy Deshon, Phil Everett & Paul East. Visitation will be from 3-7 PM Sunday, April 9th and from 11:00 AM until service time Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to the Lancaster Baptist Church.
