Elbert Nolen Prewitt, 89, of Cowden Court in Lancaster, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Stanford. Born April 6, 1925 in Garrard County, he was the son of the late Bascom & Bertha East Prewitt. Nolen was a retired employee from Whirlpool Manufacturing, a farmer, member and deacon of Beech Grove Baptist Church, a World War II Army veteran, and was preceded in death by his wife, of Roberta Bolton Prewitt. His survivors include a son , Nolen Bruce (Margaret) Prewitt of Clinton, Tenn.,, a daughter, Connie Young of Lancaster, a sister, Evaline Owens of Lexington, three grandchildren, Steve Young, Shane Prewitt & Marcia Mask , 6 great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Ramsey Funeral Home by Bro. James Tipton & Bro. Wayne Howard with burial following in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Caswell Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion. Pallbearers will be Steve, Brad & Kendall Young, Shane Prewitt, David Bolton & Dan Waters. Honorary bearers will be the men of Beech Grove Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6-9 PM Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the funeral home.
