Obituary

Elizabeth Beasley DeShon, age 94, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, May, 29, 2020 at her home. Born March 27, 1926 in Paint Lick, she was a daughter of the late Oscar & Ellen Bowlin Beasley. She had worked for 14 years at the Goodall Plant in Danville as a seamstress and spent the rest of her days as a homemaker. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening, sewing and loved to cook. She helped organize four church cookbooks over the years. She and her husband Paul also enjoyed riding their Harley with many friends. A longtime member of the Lancaster Church of the Nazarene, she had served as a Sunday School teacher, Missionary President and a board member. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband , Paul, two brothers, Gilbert & J.W. Beasley and a sister, Dorothy Atkinson. She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Bruce) Bailey of Stanford and Paula (Tom) Tillett of White Pine, Tennessee, a brother, Earl (Shirley) Beasley of Crab Orchard, and two sisters, Mary Calico of Williamsburg, Indiana & Neva McGinnis of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Grandchildren include Crystal Thompson, Tiffany (Rob) Wilson, Stacy (Boo) Lyons, Bennie Lee Hensley, Michael (Kayla) Bailey, & Lindsey (Josh) Gibson, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She also had special caregivers, Minerva Hicks, Amie Brazee & Linda Moore. Due to recent Covid 19 concerns, the family will have private graveside services in Lancaster Cemetery. No public visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may go to the Alzheimer's Association or the Lancaster Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
