Eva Shearer, age 90, of Richmond, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. Born November 16, 1928 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Robert & Nellie Underwood Kersey. A factory worker for many years, Eva was also a member of the Lancaster Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed working puzzles, flowers, fishing, canning , gardening and fishing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence in 2012 . She was also preceded in death by a son , Ronald Gene Shearer, Sr. , two brothers, James Robert "Bill" Kersey & Sherman Kersey, and three sisters, Marjorie Kersey, Della Coomer & Corena Collins. Eva's survivors include a daughter, Beverly Shearer of Richmond, a brother, Carlos Ray Kersey of McKinney, two grandchildren, Beverly Joy Robinson & Ronald G. Shearer, Jr. and three great grandchildren, Christina Murphy, Jarrod Shearer & Josh Lynch. She will have a Celebration of Life beginning Tuesday, October 15, 2019 with a gathering of family and friends from 5-8 PM at the Lancaster Church of the Nazarene. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Lancaster Cemetery with Rev. Dwayne Lobb officiating.
