Evelyn Owens, 91, of Quincy, Ky., formerly of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 in Portsmouth, Ohio. Born April 9, 1923 in Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Bascom & Bertha East Prewitt. She had been a sales associate for Stewart's Dept. Store, a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Lexington, and a former member of Lancaster Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Owens, two brothers, Arthur & Nolen Prewitt, and a sister, Nora Smith. Survivors include two sons, Bascom "Sam" (Adele) Owens of Aviano, Italy, Albert Dean (Kathi) Owens of Lucasville, Ohio, a daughter, Cheryl J. Caudill of Quincy, Ky., 5 grandchildren, Michele (John) Baswell, Jacqueline (Jamie) Bartek, Albert (Sara) Owens, Lisa (James ) Culp, Jason Ball, 2 step granddaughters, Sarah (Matt) Green , Amanda (Bob) Waughtel, 8 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Ramsey Funeral Home by Revs. Bob Jones & Bobby Greene, with burial following in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
