Flonnie Mae Whittaker, age 87, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at her residence. Born April 18, 1931 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Taylor & Irene Preston Bolton. Flonnie had been a longtime employee of Cowden's Manufacturing, and an employee of both the Redwood Restaurant and Country Diner. She had also been a member of Lancaster Baptist Church and attended Good Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Gilbert, Roy & Ray Bolton, and three sisters, Mary Turner, Ina Pellam & Hazel Goins. Her survivors include her son, Mike (Boots) Whittaker of Lancaster, and a granddaughter, Martina (Scott Sowder) Whittaker of Lancaster. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Revs. Brad King and Norm Smith. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Sowder, Jerry Bolton, Freeman Wylie, Jesse Waggoner, Noah Waggoner & Larry Jenkins. Honorary bearers will be nieces and nephews, former employees of Country Diner, Sandra Vaught, Janie Hardwick & the staff and nurses of Heritage Hospice. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to Heritage Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.
