Fredrick Day, 83, of Garrard County, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in Lexington. Born February 15, 1935 in Leslie County, he was a son of the late Harry & Versie Maggard Day. A lifelong farmer, Fred, was the owner/operator of Fred Day Sausage Farm and had also been an employee of Canada Dry where he had worked at the distillery for 17 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Freddy Wayne Day, a brother, Vivan Day and a sister, Viva Austin. His survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joy Winchester Day, a daughter, Frieda (Ernie) Ellis of Lancaster, a brother, Coy Day of Lancaster, two sisters Alphina Miller of Lexington & Alice Graham of Lancaster, three grandchildren, Ernest Blake Ellis, Christopher Day & Emilie Bowman, as well as 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 7:00 PM Friday, February 1, 2019 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 3-7 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
