Georgia Bargo Clemons, Widow of Gomer Clemons, passed away on May 12th at St. Joseph Hospital after a short illness. Born in Barbourville KY to the late Leslie Bargo Sr. and Ida Burnette Bargo. The family then moved to Garrard County. She graduated from Lancaster High School and took some classes at Eastern Kentucky College. She was many things in her life, manager of the Grand Theater, kindergarten teacher at Lancaster Baptist Church, salesperson for Stonewall Jackson Life Insurance Company, co-owner of Gomers Sunoco, and sole owner of Southland Marathon and Georgia's Chevron on Nicholasville Road. She really loved dealing with people and had a great following of customers. She was a member of the Bryan Station chapter of the DAR for 28 years and served as Vice Regent and Regent for 8 of those years. She was a member of Highlands Baptist Church in Lexington.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, June Farris and Helen Hounshell; a brother, Leslie Bargo Jr.; a grandson, Jason Hale; a niece, Ruth Hounshell; and a nephew-in-law, Carson Lewis. Surviving is a son, Wayne (Jeannie) Hale; a granddaughter, Sarah Hale; great-grandchildren, Idalena, Luciana, & Vincent Cottone; nieces, Leslie (Bob) Anderson, Alicia Lewis, her son Jesse; and a sister-in-law, Mechelle Bargo.

Funeral service will be held at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, 315 Richmond Street, Lancaster KY at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 16, 2024 by Pastor Paul Bodenhamer. Pallbearers will be Logan Adams, Jerry Crowe, Shannon Morrison, Mike Kirkbride, Jonathan Noel, and Jesse Lewis. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the funeral home.
