Gilbert Beasley, 92, of Lexington, formerly of Paint Lick, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Born November 13, 1922 in Madison County, he was a son of the late Oscar and Ellen Bowlin Beasley. He was a Navy World War II Veteran and a retired employee from Proctor & Gamble. He was a former member of Paint Lick Methodist Church, a member of the Paint Lick Sportsman's Club and enjoyed spending his time at Lake Cumberland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Lee Dalton Beasley, and a grandson, Joseph Shawn Arnold. Survivors include a son, David Lee (Terry) Beasley of Greensboro, N.C., a daughter, Gloria Jean Arnold of Lexington, a brother, Earl (Shirley) Beasley of Crab Orchard, four sisters, Elizabeth DeShon of Lancaster, Dorothy Atkinson & Mary (Allen) Calico, both of Richmond, In., Neva (Pete) McGinnis of Ohio, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Ramsey Funeral Home with burial in Paint Lick Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Caswell Saufley Post # 18 of the American Legion. Visitation will be from 1-3 PM Thursday prior to the service.
