Harold Thomas Carrier, 84, of Somerset, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 in Somerset. Born October 6, 1932 in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Jesse Carrier , Sr. & the late Mattie Cobb Carrier. He was employed by the Waitsboro Hills Golf Club and had previously worked as a backhoe operator for Driftwood Electric , Lancaster City & the Garrard Co. Water Association. He was an avid crappie fisherman, and leaves many friends at Cumberland Point and in various camping and fishing locations in Florida. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years: Betty Bailey Carrier; three brothers: Jesse Carrier, Jr.; O'Neal Carrier; & Leonard Carrier; one sister: Nancy Ray . His survivors include two daughters: Sheryl (Charles) Moody of Berea; Vicki (Keith) Greer of Crab Orchard ; sisters: Gladys Mae (Donnie) Ray of Louisville; Dorothy Grider of Lancaster; Betty Ann Edgington of Stanford; Bertie Kirkpatrick of Danville, Elsie Broaddus of Lancaster; sister in laws Gladys & Lois Carrier. He was a wonderful grandfather (Pop) to his grandchildren: J. Matt (Rachel) Kelly, Vanessa (Matt) Joseph; Jared (Tausha) Denham & Spencer Hampton. He was a great-Pop to Hawken Joseph & Zayden Denham. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, February 10, 2017 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Larry Butte, with burial following in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Randy Carrier, Bruce & Jerry Edgington, Jason Ray, Jared Denham, Spencer Hampton, Matt Kelly & Matt Joseph. Honorary bearers will be Rok Miremami, Richard Cash, T.W. Todd, Danny Floyd, Jeff Ridner, Jerry Girdler, Doug King, Paul King, Jerry Ridell, Lou Fain, the Somerset McDonalds Coffee Group & Waitsboro Hills Golf Course coworkers.
