Helen Elam Starnes, 89, of Fall Lick Rd. in Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in Danville. Born February 7, 1926 in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse & Delia Bell McQuerry Elam. She had been a homemaker, a farmer and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul, a son, Paul Wayne Starnes, two sisters Gladys Eloise Bourne & Barbara Lois Starnes and one great great grandchild. Her survivors include her daughter, Brunette (Tommy) Arnold of Lancaster,three brothers, J.W."Buddy" Elam and Donnie Elam, both of Stanford, Bill Elam of Hustonville, two sisters, Cloyd Naylor of Lancaster, Lucy Belle Rose of Goodlettsville, Tn., four grandchildren, Virginia (Gary) Grimes, Jimmy Arnold, Charles (LaDonna) Starnes & Steven (Amy) Starnes , 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 2:00 Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Revs. John Todd & Charlie Lynn with burial following in Paint Lick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven & Charles Starnes, Jimmy Wayne & Trevor Arnold, Gary Grimes & Herb Wilson. Visitation will be from 5-9 PM Friday, July 17, 2015 at the funeral home. Ramsey-Young Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
