Obituary

Ira Bruner, Jr., 78, of Nicholasville, husband of Rosemary Bruner, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at his home. Born Friday, April 11, 1941in Jessamine County, he was the son of the late Ira Sr. & Lotella Taylor Bruner. Ira had several jobs in his lifetime; drove a horse van for Sallee and John Muth, hauled Roy Rogers horses to Madison Square Garden, he was also a retired contractor. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Ira loved his two mules and three cats. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son; Douglas Bruner Walker, sister; Dorothy Marie Teater. Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years Rosemary Bruner, daughters; Shannon (Billy) Whittaker of Nicholasville, Lyla Carr of Lancaster, brother; Bunie (Sandy) Bruner of Nicholasville, sister; Thera Faye Canter of Lexington, 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren & several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 28, 2019 At Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with Bro. Brad Johnson officiating and burial following at the Original Christian Bruner Family Cemetery. Pallbearers include Juan Davis, Matthew Blakeman, Gene Brooks, Bunie Bruner, Kyle Montgomery & David Hurt. Honorary pallbearers include Dale Teater, Tommy Wyman, Greg Welch, Bruce Blakeman, Billy Whittaker, Ray Clark & Neil Hurt. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the church.
