James Leland Boyd, 82, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his home. Born June 3, 1934 in Boyle County, he was a son of the late Herbert Kinnaird Boyd & Irene Young Boyd. He had been a farmer, a member of Liberty Baptist Church, attended Gilbert's Creek Church, and was a member of the Rockcastle County Saddle Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife: Sally Johnson Boyd; an infant son: Randall Boyd; one brother: Daniel Boyd; one sister: Allene Sargant; and a grandson: Rodney Boyd. His survivors include his wife: Hazel Stevens Boyd of Lancaster; four sons: James (Terri) Boyd of Nicholasville; David Boyd of Casey County; Robert (Glenda) Boyd of Junction City; & Donald Boyd of Lancaster; one Daughter: Regina (Jay) Locker of Danville; Three stepsons: Roger (Kay) Haste of Eubank; Robert Lee (Tammy) Haste of Burnside; and Ronnie (Shelly) Haste of Yosemite, Ky.; four brothers: David (Dianne) Boyd of Stanford; Harold (Gene); Wesley (Jenny) & Wayne (Charlotte) Boyd, all of Danville; Three sisters: Dorothy ( Clarence) Johnson of Lancaster; Beulah (the Late Jack) Foster of Dayton, Ohio; Louise (Jim) Tutterow of Evansville, In.; 21 grandchildren , 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Browning officiating and burial following at Goshen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robbie Boyd, Kevin Johnson, Ricky Boyd, Blake McQueen, Danny Browne, Tony Ballard, & J.R. Horn. Honorary pallbearers include Craig Boyd, Tiffany Jennings, & all of James' grandchildren. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, May 19, 2017 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home.
