James L. Stroxtile, 78, of Stanford, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 in Lexington . Born June 25, 1939 in Jefferson County, he was a son of the late Samuel & Bernice Young Stroxtile. James was the owner /operator of Strox's Transmission in Stanford, who enjoyed collecting John Deere Tractors and working in his garden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Stroxtile, a grandson, Stephen Boyd, and a granddaughter, Christina Boyd. His survivors include his wife, Addie Poynter Stroxtile, two daughters, Stephanie Stroxtile of Porcupine, South Dakota, Terry Stroxtile of Denver, Colorado , two stepdaughters, Angela (Daryl) Conner and Diana Dennis, both of Stanford. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Michael J. & Andrew Boyd, Corey Dennis & five great grandchildren, Trityan, Tayven, Roman & Christina Boyd and Camson Dennis. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, September 18, 2017 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Lanny Hazelwood with burial following in Goshen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Corey Dennis, Michael Boyd, Daryl Conner, James Poynter, Troy Belcher & Dwight Ray. Visitation will be from 12 Noon until service time Monday at the funeral home.
