Obituary

Janis Brown Flynn, 68, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 at her residence. Born October 16, 1948 in Lexington, she was the daughter of Charles & Ruth Stokes Brown. Janis was a retired schoolteacher in the Madison County School System, attended Hyattsville Baptist Church and loved her horses. Janis is survived by her husband: Ernest "Bud" Flynn ; one son: Nathan (Melanie) McConathy of Lexington; one daughter: Genna (Lucas Freeman) Flynn of Nicholasville , and a grandson: Draven McConathy. A private graveside service was held Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Lancaster Cemetery by Rev. Pam Rucker In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Kentucky Equine Humane Center 1713 Catnip Hill, Nicholasville, Ky. 40356 or the Love on a Leash Program P.O.
