Jesse "Buddy" Elam, 83, of Stanford, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Stanford. Born June 6, 1932 in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Jesse & Delia McQuerry Elam. Buddy had been a former employee of Cowden Manufacturing & the Garrard Mill and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Ruby, and three sisters, Gladys Eloise Bourne, Helen Starnes & Barbara Starnes. Survivors include his wife, Dora, of Lexington, three sons, Wayne Dailey of Lancaster, Michael Lewis Elam of Killeen, TX. & Tim Elam of Lexington, a daughter, Debbie Walton of Lancaster, two brothers, Bill Elam of Lincoln Co., & Donald Wayne Elam of Garrard Co., two sisters, Cloyd Naylor of Lancaster & Lucy Belle Rose of Goodlettsville, TN., 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren & 3 great great grandchildren. Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, July 27, 2015 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with burial in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 Sunday at the Funeral Home.
