Jewell Kirby, 89, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Landmark of Lancaster. Born May 3, 1929 in Danville, she was a daughter of the late Eddie & Mary Sherrow Preston. She had been a 25 year employee of Palm Beach Company and enjoyed cross stitching in her spare time. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard "Boo" Kirby, as well as a sister, Della Mae Raines. Her survivors include a son, Dale (Teresa) Kirby of Lancaster , a daughter, , Geraldine (Sam) Story of Harrodsburg, three grandchildren, Autumn Gorley, April Clark & Kim Vanderpool, as well as three great grandchildren, Ella, Emma & Elijah Gorley. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, August 20, 2018 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Revs. Darin Jensin & Tanner Shomin. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Gorley, Jason Clark, Darren Johnson, Gordon Sherron, Ricky Mullins, Roby Mullins and Sam Story . Honorary bearers will be her friends of faith.
