Obituary

John Lee Crace, 72, of Lexington Road in Lancaster, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Hospice Care Center St. Joseph in Lexington. Born November 21, 1943 in Madison County, he was the son of the late Winford & Mildred Starnes Crace. John had been a construction worker specializing in bridgework and repairing covered bridges, as well as a farmer. He was a member of First Christian Church in Lexington and attended Pleasant Grove Christian Church. His survivors include his wife, Linda Maddox Crace, a son; John Lee Crace II, of Lancaster, three daughters, Sheila Mendenhall and Jen (Chris) Brooks of Lancaster, Christi Crace of Georgetown, a brother; William (Akay) Crace of Lexington, a sister; Frances Salyers of Lancaster, and six grandchildren; Dylan & Derek Mendenhall, John Lee (Jace) Crace III, Milli Crace, Riley Brooks, & Landon Crace. Funeral services for John will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 22, 2016 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with burial following in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Burke, Whit Salyers, Adam Crace, Donnie Starnes, Jack Gibson, William Hulette, Jeff Brown & Michael Cole. Honorary bearers will be Terri Shell, Briggs & Beth Cunningham & Angela McKinney. Visitation will be 3-6 PM Sunday at Ramsey - Young Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may go to Hospice Care Center , One St. Joseph Drive, Lexington, Ky. 40504.
