John Hansel Shearer, 67 of Stanford, passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at his home. Born Wednesday, August 25, 1948 in Boyle County, he was a son of the late John C. & Pauline Thomas Shearer. He was a carpenter, a Member of the American Legion, & served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Robinson Shearer, daughter; Crystal Lee Amaya, of Danville, brother; David (Janet) Shearer, of Danville, grandchildren; Alex & Heaven Amaya, & one great-grandchild; Jeremiah Jacob Collins III. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Danville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Alex Amaya, Harold Ledford, James Cagle, Lucian Camel, Wesley Camel, & Jeremiah Collins. Military rites will be performed by Caswell Saufley Post #18 of American Legion.
