Obituary

John Maurice Thompson, 62, of Crab Orchard Road in Lancaster, died Friday, May 30, 2014, at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford, Kentucky. Born August 22, 1951, in Lancaster, John was the son of the late Maurice Kermit Thompson and Ruby Baird Thompson. John loved music of all genres from gospel to Charlie Daniels and he loved vintage cars. John was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Agnew Darrell Hughes. John is survived by his daughter, Shannon Renee Thompson (Cammle Ford) whom he worshiped and adored; his sister, Phyllis Thompson (Hughes) Halloran (Pat Halloran); his niece, Lindsay Hughes Thurston (John W. Thurston) and many friends. Services for John will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Ramsey Funeral Home by Rev. Lambert Greer with burial following in Lancaster Cemetery.
