Leonard Ware Smith, 83, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021 at Landmark of Lancaster. Born January 01, 1938 in Garrard County, he was the son of the late William F. Smith & Willie Frances Ware. Leonard was a United States Army veteran. He graduated from EKU & UK Law School, & served as an attorney for Tennessee Valley Authority, in Knoxville. He was a Mason, a Shriner, & a member of Maple Ave. Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Carole Binkley Smith, of Lancaster; son, Andrew Ware Smith, of Knoxville; daughter, Rebecca Ann Asher, of Knoxville; sister, Mildred "Midge" (Shirley) Price, of Lexington, & grandchildren, Nathan & Samantha Asher.

Leonard's wishes for cremation have been honored. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon, Monday, February 22, 2021 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bro. Isaac Hall officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Monday, February 22, 2021 at the funeral home. Face coverings & social distancing are required to attend services.
