Margaret Lee Lakes, 99, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Friday, December 04, 2020 at Baptist Health of Lexington. Born Saturday, August 06, 1921 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas & Garnet Naylor Montgomery. Margaret was a former Assistant Director at Baptist Health Hospital, & a member of Rosemont Baptist Church. She was a master quilter & loved gardening, flowers & landscaping. Margaret was very devoted to God & her church, & read her Bible daily. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennie Lakes; daughter, Clara Lakes; brothers & sisters, Mattie Mae Spivey, Owen, Tommy, James, Claude & H. Clay Montgomery. Survivors include a son, James Lakes, of Lexington & three grandchildren, William Todd, Darren & Deanna. A private funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 08, 2020 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Benton officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery.
