Mary Frances Grubbs, "Granny Grubbs", 97, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday August 16, 2020 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born on Tuesday, October 24, 1922 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse & Monta Ray Preston . Mary was a homemaker, who was an avid cook & enjoyed needlework . She had a strong love for animals and was passionate about gardening. Mary was the last surviving daughter-in-law of Eli & Beatrice Grubbs. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Smith Grubbs & a daughter, Marcia Lynn Sebastian. Survivors include a daughter, Joyce (Bobby) Ballard; grandchildren, Sandy (Darrin) Peters & Troy Miller, both of Lancaster, Tammy Davis, of Florida, Lisa (Jason Oliver) Sebastian, of Paint Lick; great-grandchildren, Kristopher (Stacey) Clark, of Hustonville, Jesse Eli (Courtney) Clark, of Berea & Emily (Logan) Hill, of Lancaster; great-great-grandchildren, Lexy, Chasity, Kyndall, & Lila Clark & Jordyn & Mason Hill, as well as a special caregiver, Becky Miller. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Larry Grubbs officiating & burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kristopher Clark, Darrin Peters, Troy Miller, Jason Oliver, Logan Hill & Randy Grubbs. Honorary pallbearers include, Freeman Wylie, Jesse Clark, Bobby Ballard, Lloyd Sebastian, Jr. & Betty Ross, Johnny Grubbs & "Frank". Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may go to an animal charity of your choice.
