Mason Maupin, 84, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, April 03, 2016 in Monticello, Kentucky. Born Saturday, June 27, 1931 in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Lewis & Delie Brewer Maupin. He enjoyed traveling, riding horses, and fishing. He served three years as Special Deputy Sherriff, was a former employee of thirteen years at the Fairfield, Ohio Water Distribution Plant, was a member of Steubenville Baptist Church in Monticello, & was a 32nd degree Free Mason. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Doris Jane Benge Maupin, two brothers; Robert & Ernest Maupin, two sisters; Flossie Montgomery & Dorsie Turner, & one grandchild; Phillip Maupin. Survivors include a son; Steven Mason (Connie) Maupin, of Monticello, a daughter; Nancy Casey, of Mt. Sterling, two grandchildren, & 4 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Drake officiating and burial following in Lancaster Cemetery.
