Maurice William Mitchell, Jr. 79, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away June 6, 2017 at Compassionate Care Center. Born Monday, November 8, 1937 in Quincy, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Maurice William Mitchell, Sr. and Katherine Donnelly Mitchell. He was a truck driver by trade and served in the US Navy in 1955 active service for nearly four years and reserves until 1963. Survivors include his step-son, David Turner, step-daughter, Meri Len Turner, both of Richmond, Kentucky and his brother ,Bob (Elizabeth) Mitchell in Massachusetts, and sister, Mary Mitchell O'Neal . He was preceded in death also by his wife, Sondra Lynn Bertholf Mitchell. Maurice's wishes for cremation have been honored and graveside services at Camp Nelson National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
