Melvin Bailey II, 73, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday January 23, 2019 in Lexington . Born August 31, 1945 in Harlan, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Melvin & Nancy Caudill Bailey. Melvin had been a employee of Moss Wholesale , was an Army veteran and loved to fish. Melvin was also preceded in death by his wife, Linda, a son, Melvin "Blue" Bailey III, four brothers, John, David, Mitchell & Utah Bailey, as well as two sisters, Mary Ann Hall & Sally Hadley. Surviving Melvin are 2 grandchildren, Jayla Bailey & Lucas Moberly, one great grandchild, August Walker, two brothers, Harrison Bailey of Hazard, Jerry Bailey of Leslie County, as well as two sisters, Sue Breasette of Virginia & Betty McCord of Vicco, Ky., and his best friend Buddy Grimes. Services for Mr. Bailey will be 8 PM Monday, January 28, 2019 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Daryl Hodge. His visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Honorary bearers are Buddy Grimes, Josh Gaffney, Scott Sowder, Dwayne May, J.K. Simpson, Bill Correll, Ron Stevens, Ann Wolfzorn, Joan Robinson, Martina Sowder & Nerva Hicks.
