Michael R. Snowden passed away March 11, 2015. He was born April 14, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Roy and Christina Salley Snowden. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army from 1968-1974. A resident of Okeechobee for 29 years, he was a member of Buckhead Ridge Moose Lodge #2417, Cypress Hut Eagles #4509, and American Legion Post #64. He enjoyed music fishing and boating. He was a talented DJ and he loved to entertain by playing and singing classic oldies. Michael is survived by his wife of 33 years, Naomi Sue Gibson Snowden of Okeechobee; son Christopher Michael; daughter Melissa M. Jones of Lexington, Kentucky; Stepsons Russell Shay McClelland of Dayton, Ohio and Casey Wayne McClelland (Tangela) of Indiana; two granddaughters, Ramona Sioux McClelland of Dayton, Ohio and Abigail Angel McClelland of Indiana; two grandsons of Kentucky and his loving dog, Andy. Graveside services will be held 1:30 PM Friday, March 20, 2015 at Camp Nelson Cemetery with military rites performed by the Caswell Saufley Post # 18 American Legion.
