James Michael "Mike" Sutton, 66, of Lancaster, husband of Donna Lynch Sutton, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Friday, July 18, 1952 in Garrard County, he was the son of Margaret Johnson Sutton of Lancaster, & the late J.D. Sutton. Mike was a meat grader for the United States Department of Agriculture. He was a member of Lancaster Baptist Church, where he was very active in his Sunday School class "Men of Faith" & Carringer Life Group. Mike enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles & was an avid UK Wildcats fan, as well as the Cincinnati Reds. He was a history buff & a lifetime member of the UK Alumni Association. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Sutton. Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Donna Lynch Sutton, of Lancaster; mother Margaret Johnson Sutton, of Lancaster; daughters Lyndsay Sutton, of Taylor Mill, and Beth Sutton, of Louisville; brothers Larry Sutton & David Sutton of Nicholasville; as well as several nieces & nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Best & Bro. Gary Carringer officiating, with burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM Friday, July 19, 2019 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to the mission trips fund at Lancaster Baptist Church (201 Richmond St. Lancaster, KY, 40444).
