Nadine Starnes Scott, 89, of Buckeye Road in Lancaster, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born October 14, 1926 in Garrard County . She was a daughter of the late Alfred Starnes & Ila Mae Dyehouse Starnes. She was a homemaker and the oldest attending active member of Good Hope Baptist Church where she also served as a Sunday School teacher. In addition to her parents , she was preceded in death by her step mother: Elizabeth Starnes; three brothers: William A. Starnes , Paul Starnes & G.B. Starnes; two sisters : Christine Starnes & Toney Ray Tackett and a deceased sister in law; Helen Starnes. Her survivors include her husband of 68 years, Thomas B. Scott, a son: Alfred Tom (Martha) Scott of Richmond; a daughter: Virginia (Phillip) Stump of Lancaster; two sisters: Joetta Talbot of Lancaster & Janie Conley of Somerset: two sister in laws; Marie Starnes of Dayton, Ohio & Betty Starnes of Somerset. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren: Joy (Bo) Renfro & Rick (Jenny) Stump; 4 Great Grandchildren: Rodney(Kacie) Renfro , Kara (Sam) Taylor, Nicholas (Katharyn) Stump & Myles (Annie) Stump; as well as two great great grandchildren; Amelia Stump & Tahari Renfro. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 7, 2016 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Jimmy Closterman with burial following in Paint Lick Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eddie, Ronnie, & Jerry Starnes, Doug & Gary Conley, Jim Wayne Arnold & Michael Rankin. Visitation will be from 5-9 Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the funeral home.
