Neal Carrier, 79, of Cave Springs Drive, in Lancaster, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington. He was the son of the late Jess and Mattie Cobb Carrier and was born July 11, 1934 in Garrard County. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Leonard Carrier and June Carrier and a sister Nancy Ray. He was a mason, a member of the Lancaster Lodge 104 F&AM, and a member of the Lancaster Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing and UK sports. Survivors include his wife, Lois Jones Carrier of Lancaster; two daughters Debbie (Jimmy) Rousey of Hustonville; and Cindy (Kevin) Wade of Lancaster; a brother Harold Carrier of Somerset; and sisters Betty Ann Edgington of Crab Orchard; Elsie Broadus of Lancaster; Dorothy Grider of Lancaster; Gladys Mae Ray of Louisville; and Bertie Kirkpatrick of Danville; five grandchildren Alex Barrett, Jerrid Wade, Luke Wade, Tracy (Kris) Broadus and Lori (Chris) Duggins; and two great-grandchildren, Tyson Broadus and Adeline Duggins. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Friday, May 30, 2014 at Ramsey Funeral Home by Bro. Bob Rush and Dr. Harold Best. Burial with military rites will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Duggins, Jerrid Wade, Alex Barrett, Cliff Ed Irvin, Danny Irvin, Randy Carrier and John Clark. Honorary Pallbearers will be J.K. Simpson, John Combs, Jeff Daly, Eric May, Jeff Moss, David Gay, Joe Coyle, Hershell Hale and Sammy Durham. Visitation will be held from 5-9 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
