Newland Walker May, 62, of Anniston, Alabama, formerly of Lancaster, died Sunday, November 6, 2016 in Chattanooga, Tn. Born January 9th, 1954 in Garrard County, Kentucky, to the late Newland and Minnie Francis Walker May, lifetime residents of Garrard County. He is survived by his son, Blake Walker May, his daughter-in-law Tori May, and his granddaughter Blakely May, all of Helena, AL. He is also survived by his sister Judy May Hodge, his nephew Norm Hodge, both of Rock Springs, GA, and his cousin Russell Coy II, Richmond, KY. Newland was a graduate of Garrard County High School and Eastern Kentucky University. After graduation, he served in the army at Fort McClellan, AL. Beloved father of Blake May, and grandfather to Blakely. Newland was an avid fan of the University of Kentucky and had deep love for UK basketball. He was a member of the Antioch Christian Church in Lancaster, Ky. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in Lancaster Cemetery.
