Paul R. Black, 90, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at his residence. Born December 30, 1927 in Garrard County, Paul was a son of the late William & Maggie Ray Black. He had been a lifelong farmer, an employee of the Water Plant for 22 years , National Casket Factory for 17 years and also worked for the Division of Forestry. Paul was a Mason, a Shriner, a United States Army veteran during the Korean War Era, and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jefferey Lee Black, a brother, William Kenneth Black, and a sister, Virginia Heuser and a grandson, Jared Grubbs. His survivors include his wife of 58 years Oneida Whittaker Black, two daughters, Jennifer (Randy) Grubbs of Lancaster, Janilynn (Mark) Henderson of Stanford, a twin sister, Gladys (the late Ralph) Burnside of Stanford, a sister in law, Wanda Black of Lancaster. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Brandy Poynter, Jamie Irvin, Haley Cloyd, Hagen Black, Levi Henderson, Riley Henderson, Gage Henderson, Raegan Henderson, and seven great grandchildren Trinity, Dylan, Trayce, Jaghyr & Pearce, Arie & Gabby. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 23, 2018 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, with Revs. Michael Denny & Vola Brown officiating, and burial with military rites at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Grubbs, Mark Henderson, Trayce Poynter, Levi Henderson, Bobby Tudor, Ralph Ray Burnside, Kenny Black, & Buster Quinn. Honorary bearers will be Dariel Whittaker & Levi Messer Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home.
