Peggy Ann Gentry Barnes, 62, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born on Friday, November 14, 1958 in Richmond, she was a daughter of the late Vernon Gentry & Emma Lee Hormel. Peggy was a Licensed Practical Nurse and a former employee for Patty A. Clay Hospital in Richmond for many years. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Ashcraft.

Survivors include her husband of twenty-seven years, Tommy Barnes, of Lancaster; daughters, Kaci (Rudy) Valdez, of Danville,  Kati (Eric) Baxter, of North Carolina; brothers, Teddy (Connie) Gentry and Tim (Jean) Gentry, both of Lancaster; sister, Connie Hensley, of Paint Lick; grandchildren, Evalee Doyle, Brentlee Cox, Ryker James Thomas Cox, a grandchild on the way, Lorelai Valdez; nieces & nephews, Misty Wood, Kelly Gibson, Boyd Fieldon Hensley, Michael Vernon Gentry; great-nieces, Tayton Lawson, Rikki Leigh Gibson & Taylor Sparks.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with burial following at the Gentry Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mervin Kramer, Johnny McCombs, Robert Masters, Robby Asher, Allen Asher & David McCombs. Honorary pallbearers include Sonny Briscoe & Lynn Gilkerson. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 PM on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home.
