Ruth Turner, 99, of Lancaster, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday November 19, 2014 at the Christian Care Center. Born Friday, February 12, 1915 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Earl & Moody Hurt Preston. She was the oldest member of the Lancaster Christian Church, and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ezie Bert Turner, an infant daughter, Georgia Turner, a brother, Hubert Preston, and sisters; Edith Baker, Ida Rae Clifton and Grace Peel. Survivors include daughters; Joetta Ellis and Bertie (John) King, both of Lancaster, half brothers; Kinniard Preston and Virgil Preston, both of Mitchellsburg, Kentucky, half sisters; Bonnie Ledford, Leoma Turner, Nina Gilliam and Patsy Gilliam, all of Lancaster, grandchildren; Sherry Edgington, Kenneth Ellis, Randy Ellis, Earnest Ellis, Candy Cummins, Carol Ann Taylor, John Allen King Jr. and Gail (The late Robert) McQueary, ten great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 21, 2014 at Ramsey Funeral Home with Revs. Bryce McCulley and Don Burton officiating,. Burial will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Ellis, Randy Ellis, Earnest Ellis, John Allen King Jr., Freddie Edgington and Tracy Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers will be the great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 21, 2014 until service time at Ramsey Funeral Home.
