Shelton Moss, 85, of Lancaster passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at his residence. Born Wednesday, October 4,1933 he was a son of the late William Ball Moss and Anna Elveree Carter Moss. He served in the United States armed forces as a Marine, was the county clerk of Garrard County for twenty one years, and was a member of Lancaster Christian Church. Shelton coached minor league baseball for over fifteen years at Jaycee Ballpark, and was the proud owner of "The Country Diner." In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers; Billy (the late Berdeaux) Moss, the late Julian (Juanita) Moss, and David (Peggy) Moss, one sister; Carolyn Moss, three nephews; the late Julian Moss Jr., the late Michael Davis, and the late Patrick Moss. Survivors include his son, Greg Moss of Lexington; three sisters; Mary Katheryn (the late Buzz) Hurte, Wilma (Hugh) Davis, both of Lancaster, Virginia (the late Nathaniel) Rogers of Fort Lauderdale, his sister in law; Peggy Moss of Lancaster.; twelve nieces and nephews; Linda Wardlow, Mark Hurte, Nathaniel Rogers III, Gary Rogers, Steve Rogers, Becky Xeroteres, Andrea Freeman, Deborah Moss, Ricky Davis, Tim Davis,Susan Gibson Moss and Jeff Moss. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 17,2018 at Lancaster Christian Church. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, November 16,2018 at Ramsey Young Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday, November 17,2018 at Lancaster Christian Church. Burial will be at Lancaster Cemetery with Dr. Bob Mallory, Rick Davis, and Jeff Moss officiating. Pallbearers will be Bruce Freeman, Ricky Davis, Tim Davis, Jeff Moss, Mark Hurte, and Doug Simpson.
