Thomas Allan Prewitt, 74, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 in Danville. Born June 9, 1943 in Garrard County, Tom was a son of the late Arthur & Amanda Casey Prewitt. Tom was a diversified man who enjoyed and excelled at many things. He was a longtime gospel singer and sang bass for the Solid Rock Quartet, which travelled all over the nation. With music his first love, he still found time to enjoy hunting , fishing, his horses and dogs and also had a taxidermy business. He was a member of Lancaster Christian Church Tom is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cheryl Burton Prewitt, a daughter, Amanda Marie (the late Jake) Caudill of Lancaster, two grandchildren , Miranda & Anthony "PJ" Pettyjohn and a great granddaughter, Sapphirah Pettyjohn. Tom was the oldest of eight, leaving three brothers, Jim (Carolyn) Prewitt of Shelbyville, Art (Rose) Prewitt of Munfordville, Mac (Jeannie) Prewitt of Tampa, Florida, and four sisters, Myra (Dan) Myer & Celeste Ramirez of Louisville, Judy Prewitt of Lancaster & Melissa (Bob) Britt of Franklin, Tn. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Bill Rhodus, with burial in Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Starbuck, Dan Waters, Mike Kirby, Ronnie Cohorn ,Wade Lowery & Jason Lowery. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the funeral home.
