Vander McDaniel, 84, of Central, Indiana, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at his home. Born Wednesday, October 5, 1932 in Osyka, Mississippi , he was the son of the late Myrtis Golman McDaniel and Lovell McDaniel. Vander was a retired employee of Delta Airlines where he had worked 27 years , a veteran of the U.S. Army and attended Hyattsville Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and camping. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Bessie Kennemar and Winnie Sarten. Survivors include his wife Wilma Blake McDaniel; two sons; Kenneth (Tami) McDaniel of Stanford, William McDaniel of Central, Indiana; one daughter, Teresa (Mark) Bowsher of Central, Indiana; and one sister Laura Wagner of Texas. Other survivors include seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Everett Priddy. Burial with military rites will take place at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephews.
