Virgie Hume Long, 100, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, February 07, 2018 in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Born Thursday, March 01, 1917 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Travis & Lula Ray Hume. She was a homemaker, & was a former employee of Cowden Manufacturing. She faithfully attended Lancaster Baptist Church, & Bethel Christian Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow P. Long; brother, Burnett Hume; sister, Jewell Oliver, & a grandson, Hunter Long. Survivors include a son, Wayland (Yvonne) Long of Tullahoma, Tennessee, & one granddaughter, Dr. Alexis Long of Memphis, Tennessee. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Best officiating & burial following at Lancaster Cemetery.
