Virginia Canter Montgomery, 94, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Born Saturday, November 19, 1921 in Jessamine County, she was the daughter of the late Lee & Beulah Green Canter. She was a homemaker, & a member of Forks of Dix River Baptist Church for 69 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Clay Montgomery, & son; Daryl Edwin Montgomery. Survivors include son; Darby (Trish) Montgomery of Lancaster, three grandchildren; Stephanie (John) Hodge, Todd (Kelly) Montgomery, Kevin (Megan) Montgomery, six great grandchildren; Elle, Garrison, Isabella, & Isaac Clay Montgomery, Thad & Ali Hulett, a special friend & caregiver; Verna Mae Smith of Lancaster, brother-in-law; Buddy Carter of Nicholasville, sister-in-law; Faye Canter, of Lexington, & Ida Ruth Canter of Nicholasville, Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Rhodus & Bro. Cole Caven officiating, & burial following at Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Canter, Glen Montgomery, Brad Teater, Jerry Carter, M.L. Noe, Wayne Montgomery, Eric Canter, John Canter, & Gary Conder. Honorary pallbearers include Mrs. Jody Vickers, Teresa Canter, Cindy Shearer, Donna Miller, Melvina Brown, Gayle Teater, Virginia West, June Richey, & Edie Miller. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to Forks of Dix River Baptist Church or Wesley Chapel Methodist Church.
