Paint Lick

Obituary

Willis Ray Sparks, 79, of Paint Lick Ky was called home to Jesus on December 10, 2024. The son of Elisha and Rose Day Sparks, he was a faithful member and Deacon of Mt Tabor Baptist Church in Paint Lick. He retired from General Telephone & Electric in Berea, Ky in 1995. When he wasn't working in hay or tending his cattle, he loved spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, raising a bountiful garden, caring for his honey bees, and grafting fruit trees. He demonstrated a lifelong habit of loving his family well, creating multitudes of cherished memories, and is greatly missed.

He leaves behind Alice his loving wife of nearly 60 years, his beloved son and daughter Rodney (Gina) and Lisa (Russell) Reynolds; four treasured grandchildren Isaac (Rachel) Sparks, Matthew Sparks, Jacob Reynolds, and Julianna Reynolds; two great-grandchildren Elam Sparks and Elizabeth Sparks; two sisters Wanda Allen and Carolyn Rankin; a niece Karen (Bruce) Henderson; nephews Kenny (Satica) Allen and Michael (Becky) Rankin; and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, with Bro. Damian Phillips officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Isaac & Matthew Sparks, Jacob & Julianna Reynolds, Michael Rankin, & Kenny Allen. Honorary pallbearers include the church deacons at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, or St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

A very special Thank You to the family of ICU nurses and staff at Baptist Health Hospital in Richmond for their generously expressed love and compassionate care.
