Zella B. Casey Preston, 85, of Danville Street in Lancaster, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at her home. Born Thursday, January 22, 1931 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Jessie & Ida Sparks Casey. She was a homemaker, and a former employee of the Garrard County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of New Antioch Christian Church where she taught Sunday school, & was the director of Bible school, & the choir for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Hogan Preston Sr., a son; George Hogan Preston Jr., sisters; Clethia Guy, Celesta Keith, Geneva Mason, Anna Ruth Mason, Amanda Prewitt, Nettie Casey, & a brother; Adolph Casey. Survivors include daughters; Marsha (Mike) McQueary, Debbie (David) Adams, Dianne (David) Strevels, son; Bobby (Mary Ann) Preston, daughter-in-law; Coleene Preston, all of Lancaster, sister; Fay Murphy of Lancaster, brother; John Casey, of Michigan, sixteen grandchildren, & twenty-nine great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00AM Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Val McCord & David Holland officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons; Brian McQueary, David & Stephen Napier, Jerome & Andrew Adams, Justin & Evan Preston, & Micah Strevels. Honorary Pallbearers include granddaughters; Jerri Culross, Sonya Marshall, Sherry Preston, Jaime Preston, Erica Caudill, Dana Gilbert, Amy Domidion, & Kelly Strevels.
